Historic Ghost Towns. Bauer Utah

There snot much to say bout Bauer But Wow. One min there a town. Next thing is on fire for ten years. and now its a dump. Seriously a landfill. Its crazy how the history goes here in Utah. Back home in Florida. You would be hell bent to destroy or get rid of a historical landmark. But here in Utah i see that not the case. Bauer is a town of the past. You gata drive down a treacherous dirt road and then when you get there its just a bunch of concrete buildings that are left. Graffiti everywhere. And by looking at it. A shooting range. Bullet shells everywhere. All i felt here is sadness. This is truly a town that was forgotten. And when u look across. You will see where it was burning for 10 years. Wow. All i can say is that this place is a eye opener. So heres a little history on Bauer. Much love and happy hunting...

Bauer’s fate was sealed when its last viable operations were destroyed by fire. Rulon Aufdemorte’s final task was to dismantle and ship off any salvageable properties. When the last truckload finally pulled away, Aufdemorte gathered his belongings and drove to Salt Lake City, leaving Bauer’s crumbling ruins to the wind and ghosts.

Bauer is a small mining community five miles southwest of Tooele, west of and adjacent to U-36. It was first settled in 1855 and named for B. F. Bauer, a local mine operator. It had an earlier name of Buhl.
