Greatest killing of Shoshone Indians in Idaho. 540 dead. Women and children murdered. They were raped gutted and left for dead and thrown in to the Bear River. One of the greatest mass murders of Native Americans in US History. Their story MUST BE TOLD.
Bear River Massacre the 29th 1863 Battle of Bear River Washington territory Idaho to present day. We will start at the monument by the daughter of Utah pioneers . Was the biggest Massacre of Shoshone Indians in America led by Patrick Edward Connor the land here in the Cashe County was so good for trapping that the Trappers told Brigham Young that he considered cash a valley instead of Salt Lake City. But Brigham Young chose Salt Lake City due to the California and Oregon Trail as well as a settlement of the Salt Lake City.
Starvation of the Shoshone Indians was apparent. Even Brigham Young told the early Mormons to help the Shoshone. The early settlers required lots of food and then which in return push the Shoshone to lessor grounds that the food was scarce.
1856 the Shoshone complain to David H Burr surveyor General of Utah that flourishing game was being diminished forging and hunting was depleting the food source and taking additional resources of the Shoshone away 1862 the Shoshone were in Desperate Times. They had to resort to thievery of mail stations for food and give it to the hungry people. Wayne Dottie reported it and tried to help get food for the Shoshone and wanted to give them livestock to become herdsman and not beggars. Well guess what .July 28th 1862 John White discovered gold on Grasshopper Creek well we all know what happens when what that meant more settlers and more families moving through the cashe Valley and the supply trails.
On January 29th 1863 Colonel Patrick Edward Connor and about 200 California volunteers attacked the Shoshone Indians Village as they approach the Indian camp in the early morning at 6 a.m. they found the people behind it an embankment in Beaver creek afterwards called Battle Creek. The volunteers lead the first charge by 8 a.m. Colonel Patrick changed his tactics encampment of men butcher in the battle lasted about 2 hours in that battle children were slaughtered by undisciplined soldiers and took axes and Bash the heads of the women and the children that were already dying of wounds it was killed along with his sub Chief Lehi just continue to burn down the 75 Indian lodges recovered a thousand bushels of wheat in flour and appropriated 175 Shoshone or horses.
Edward Connor at the end of all of this he took his troops back and his wounded back to get helped but he left all of the dead Indians there on the spot.
This a great part of American history that has been overlooked and forgotten and the Shoshone people and the ones who died there the men women and children total to about 550 to 600 Native American Shoshone that died on this spot and their spirits and their souls were left there in limbo upon that ground in which they were murdered so as a part of American history and this is forgotten is have been done so wrong that they had to leave their dead there and their children. And the women and children ... wow.
The bad thing about this was . That the women were raped the children were killed and thier dead bodies were left upon the spot they died. Left to Rot on the very land the lived and protected. And then some of the bodies were thrown into the Bear River.
S.T.O.N.E Paranormal Spirit Sessions has the great honor with the Native American descendant Elder of this land which the land is passed down to him and he is going to take us personally to the monument spot and then from there he is going to take us to the spot of the Bear River Massacre where all the Native American Shoshone Indians were murdered and he is also going to be able to do a Native American ceremony to help give respect and honor to those that died.
This is a place of great sadness and anguish and a great disrespect of the Native American Shoshone people. This was their land first and like most lands if there's gold at there's something to prosper. The European or the white settlers came in they slowly but surely pushed the Native Americans to the far-right and they took over the land and they took the gold they took the ore they used up all of the resources and all of the food and they pushed the Native Americans a back and pretty much took from them the freedom of their sacred land and resources that the indians have relied upon for eons of time. how is this right. How can we as a people forget this great transvestite to the native People. And yet it not tell people of that greed and injustice of our native brothers and sisters. To kill and just leave the dead there. Thats not kool man. These once and still proud be. Deserve better that that. That is why i choose to go to this spot and give honor to the dead. To not let their life and culture to live on. And maby this investigation will shed sum light on what really happen here. Theres no denying it. This massacre happened. It is documented. Just not talked about. Maby its the shame or just that they just dont want you to know bout the cruelty that was done to these people. Its saddens my heart. Hurts like a knife. It pains me to think that our native brothers and sisters were treated with such disrespect. Native Lives Matter..Shoshone are a proud people they were turned into Beggars and they had to resort to thievery in order to be able to feed their people through the long winter months and also the summer. All we want to do is to help the souls of the natives Souls to finally rest in peace and to bring observance and shed some light on reality of what happened here on the Idaho border.
There's a lot to be told. We are here now to hear from the spirits and to hear their voice and to also give thanks and respect to the Shoshone Indians and the land that the Indians lost their lives on. To let the world know that their sacrifice was not lost and that they are still remembered in our heart and our souls. To give a little peace to a nation of people that were and still are a Great People.I cant really put in words the sorrow i feel. That we as a people can not come together and live on this land in peace. But we as a people can do whats right. You cant get respect. If you can not give it back. Knowledge is power. But Wisdom will save your life.. So stay tuned with the documentary of the Bear River Massacre Investigation. We can keep on moving. We just got to make the right steps. Much love.
